SCIENVB ENTRY 1

May 28 2008 - Tragedy of The Commons - SCIENVB S22

Author : Garrett Hardin & John Baden

The only way we can preserve and nurture other and more precious freedoms is by relinquishing the freedom to breed, and that very soon. "Freedom is the recognition of necessity" -- and it is the role of education to reveal to all the necessity of abandoning the freedom to breed. Only so, can we put an end to this aspect of the tragedy of the commons.

*Oh yeah, I heard from my best friend that his prof. said "Global Warming is not real, it's just climate change."

She said that Al Gore is the one who made the "truths" about Global Warming. He is not a scientist but a journalist graduate (you know what that means...a journalist acting like a scientist?). She added that Al Gore doesn't want to debate with the scientist because he knows that he has no chance of winning. He did it for media display and such or something like that? (can't seem to remember the whole story...)

Dunno if it's true but even though, I'm still fascinated. Hope you are too! :D

Well I think Al Gore just wanted to raise public awareness, so we would realize that human greed will eventually destroy the entire planet, hahaha :))
